TEAM HISTORY 2006 - 2024
Joe Tandy Racing was originally set up in 2006 by Joe Tandy to run brother Nick in the British Formula Ford Championship. The team immediately established itself as a front runner with multiple wins and podiums culminating in our first major success with first place at the prestigious Formula Ford Festival in 2007.
For 2008 and 2009 JTR continued to compete in British Formula Ford and also added a British Formula 3 program to assist Nick's rise up the racing ladder. Again this proved a success as throughout 2008-09 JTR were able to improve the unfancied Mygale F3 chassis and achieved multiple podiums and a race win at Rockingham to firmly establish itself as a challenger. In 2009 the JTR formula ford team also achieved 7 race wins and 2nd place in the championship with american driver Josef Newgarden and also took 2nd place at the Festival with dutch driver Liroy Stewart.
2010-2011 yielded 10 more race wins in British Formula Ford competition for team drivers Tio Elinas, Daniel Cammish and Geoff Urhane which led on to our first Championship win in 2012 with Finlands Antti Buri, the team taking 11 wins along the way.
2013 would see an extraordinary level of success for the team in British Formula Ford as Daniel Cammish took the Championship with 24 wins from 24 races and JTR winning 25 of the 30 races contested a testament to the level of professionalism and strength within the team. JTR also contested the 2013 Formula Renault North European Cup with Ecuadorian driver Julio Moreno.
In 2014 Jayde Kruger became the third driver in as many years to win the British FF Championship for JTR and together with Max Marshall and Sam Brabham JTR took 17 race wins. 2015 will see JTR enter the new FIA F4 championship which is set to replace Formula Ford.
